Widow raped and killed at Saharsa village

Saharsa : Unidentified criminals raped and killed a thirty year old widow of village Mundichak under Banama police outpost under Salkhua police station in Saharsa district on May 10, 2017, night. The body was thrown near a maize field at Mohanpur Ranginia under Banama police outpost.

The widow had left for her parents place at Mundichak from her in-laws’ place Khamouti Panchayat alone on May 10 evening. The villagers saw the body on May 11 morning and informed the Banama police outpost about it. Police sent the body to Saharsa Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. She was a frequent visitor to Mundichak.

Dukhi Yadav, father of the deceased, said that she was married to Dinesh Yadav, who died two years back. She has left behind four children. She had purchased sweets from Ranihaat Bazaar, Simribhatiarpur, and reached Teliahaat Bazaar by an auto but could not get a vehicle for Mundichak, 4 km away from Teliahaat, hence decided to reach there walking. When she did not reach Mundichak till late night, her family members started searching for her and finally reached near the maize field at Mohanpur Ranginia on May 11 morning and identified the body.

Circle Inspector, Simribakhtiarpur, Satyanarain Rai, and Banama police outpost incharge Jitendra Sahni reached the spot and inquired into the incident. Dukhi Yadav told police that his daughter had a quarrel with Dilip Yadav at Khamouti recently.
