Patna : Sri Lanka (SL) were 31/3 against West Indies (WI) at stumps on day two in the 1st cricket at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad, on June 7, 2018, with Captain Dinesh Chandimal batting on 3 and Roshen Silva 1 not out.

Earlier, West Indies declared their first innings at 414/8 in 154 overs with wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich, 26, scoring an unbeaten 125 in 325 ball with 12 fours, his second test century. Dowrich was involved in a 75 run partnership with fast bowler Kemar Roach for the 8th wicket. Roach fell to fast medium bowler Lahiru Kumars, 21, after scoring 39 with 6 fours and a six when the score was 414.

Dowrich was also involved in a 102 run partnership with spinner Devendra Bishoo for the 7 wicket. Bishoo scored 40. WI had won the toss and elected to bat. Resuming at their overnight score of 246/6, the WI lost only two wickets on day 2 adding 168 runs to their total.

For Sri Lanka, Lahiru Kumara took 4/95 while Suranga Lakmal took 2/55. Spinner Rangana Herath took 1/67. WI opener Devon Smith was run out.

Sri Lanka made a disatrous start to their first innings losing their first wicket when the score was only 2 and the second wicket when the score was 16. Opener Kusal Mendis was out for 4 while his partner Kusal Perera was out for a duck. Former captain Angelo Mathews was out for 11.

For WI, Kemar Roach, captain Jason Holder, and Shannon Gabriel took one wicket each.
