Patna : West Indies (WI) WI beat Bangladesh by 50 runs in 3rd T20 defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs in the 3rd T20I at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh, on December 22, 2018, to win the three-match series 2-1. Bangladesh won the toss but opted to bowl. Batting first, West Indies were all out for 190 in 19.2 overs riding on opener Evin Lewis’ 89 in 36 balls with 6 fours and 8 sixes and 29 in 24 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes by Nicholas Pooran. Evin Lewis was declared Player of the Match while Bangladesh Captain Shakib Al Hasan was declared Player of the Series.
Evin Lewis added 76 runs with his opening partner and wicketkeeper Shai Hope for the first wicket in 5 overs. Shai Hope scored 23 in 12 balls with 3 fours and six. Keemo Paul was out for 2 to Mustafizur Rahman. Rovman Powell made 19 in 16 balls with a four and a six. But, Shimron Hetlyer fell to Mahmudullah for duck. Fast bowler Oshane Thomas was run out for zero. Captain Carlos Brathwaite made 8.
For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan took 3/37 while Mustafizur Rahman took 3/33. Mahmudullah took 3/18.
Chasing a target of 191, Bangladesh were all out for 140 in 17 overs with opener Liton Das scoring 43 in 25 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes while Abu Hider Rony scored an unbeaten 22 in 17 balls with 3 fours and a six. Mehidy Hasan scored 19 in 19 balls with a six and a four. Captain Shakib Al Hasan fell to Fabian Allen for zero while Mahmudullah scored 11. Wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim made 1 and opener Tamim Iqbal 8.
For West Indies, Keemo Paul took 5/15 while Fabian Allen took 2/19. Sheldon Cottrell and Captain Carlos Brathwaite took one wicket each.
