Patna : West Indies (WI) were all out for 212 in 44.4 overs against England in the 19th match of ICC World Cup at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, UK, on June 14, 2019, with fast bowlers Jofra Archer and Mark Wood taking 3 wickets each while Joe Root took 2 wickets. England had won the toss and opted to bowl. Nicolas Pooran was the top scorer for WI making 63 in 78 balls with 3 fours and a six. In Reply, England were 80/0 after 12 overs.

Batting first, WI lost their first wicket that of opener Evin Lewis at 4 only. Lewis fell to Chros Woakes for 2. Opener Chris Gayle and Sai Hope ( wk) added 50 runs for the 2nd wicket. Gayle fell to fast bowler Liam Plunkett for 36 in 41 balls with 5 fours and a six. Sai Hope fell to Mark Wood for 11 making it 55/3. Nicolas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer then added 89 runs for the 4th wicket. Hetmyer fell to Joe Root for 39 in 48 balls with 4 fours and it was 144/4. Captain Jason Holder followed him soon getting out to Root for 9 making it 156/5.

All-rounder Andre Russel fell to Mark Wood for 21 in 16 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes continuing his flop show with the bat in the World Cup. He was followed by Nicolas Pooran who fell to Jofra Archer for 63 and it was 202/7. Carlos Barthwaite scored 14.

Jofra Archer took 3/30 in 9 overs while Mark Wood took 3/18 in 6.4 overs. Joe Root took 2/27 in 5 overs.
