Patna : Chasing a victory target of 296 runs,West Indies (WI) were 79/4 in 37 overs in their second innings against Sri Lanka (SL) in the second session of the play on the fifth and final day of the 2nd cricket test at Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia, on June 18, 2018, with opener Kraigg Brathwaite batting on 37 and Shai Hope batting on 16. WI still need 217 runs to win the match.

WI lost their first wicket when the score was just 6 and the second wicket when the score was 8. WI opener Devon Smith, who had scored 61 in the first innings, fell to medium fast bowler Kasun Rajitha for 1. Kieran Powell also fell to Rajitha for 2. Wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich, who had scored 55 in the first innings, fell to spinner Akila Dhananjaya for 8 while Roston Chase fell to fast bowler Suranga Lakmal for 13.

Earlier, SL were all out for 342 in their second innings. For WI, fast bowler Shannon Gabriel took 8/62 in 20.4 overs. WI were all out for 300 in their first innings while SL had scored 253 in their first innings.
