Motihari : Located on on Indo-Nepal border in East Champaran District, Bankatawa Block has became first block in Bihar where the  entire eligible  population above 18 years of age received the  first dose of Covid -19  vaccine in June 28, 2021, and the district administration has decided to administer the second dose of vaccine  ithin a week or two and declare the block as first fully vaccinated block in the state.

The  health workers, ANMs, Jeevika didis, doctors, and  social workers are making every effort  under the leadership of East Champaran  DM Shirshat Kapil Ashok to achieve the target. Bihar Health Minister  Mangal Pandey,BJP MP from Purvi Champaran Radha
Mohan Singh, a former union minister, and Law Minister Pramod Kumar, have congratulated the DM and his team for their good work.    A WHO  team of experts  is likely to visit East Champaran District district within a week to study the mode of working  and speedy
vaccination under Bankatawa block  to replicate it at different places.

DM  Shirshat Kapil Ashok said he has received intimation about from WHO  teams visit. Besides , with a view to inoculating a huge population under 27 blocks in East Champaran District, the largest  district of state, health officials have kickstarted speedy
urban and rural vaccination drive by  organizing mega vaccination camps.
The  entire population above 18 years under Bankatawa  and Piprakothi blocks, Raxaul Nagar parishad, Motihari Nagar Nigam, Dhaka Nagar Parishad, Pakaridayal Nagar Panchayat, Chakiya Nagar Parishad, Areraj Nagar panchayat, and Kesariya Nagar Panchayat have been adminsitered accinated  first dose.
