Ara : West Bengal police, with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart, arrested an imposter posing as an Income Tax Officer from Ekwari village under Sahar police station on July 11, 2020, late evening. The arrested imposter was identified as Pintu Singh, son of Rameshwar Singh of Ekwari village under Sahar police station in Bhojpur district.

SHO, Sahar police station, Manindra Kumar, said that Pintu Singh posing as an Income Tax Officer, along with his associates, had conducted Income Tax raid at a house under Bankura police station area in West Bengal in March this year and had looted huge cash. An FIR was lodged with Bankura police station in West Bengal against Pintu Singh and others.

After institution of FIR, the West Bengal police started investigating into the matter and following scientific process, they reached Bhojpur and with their local counterpart, conducted raids at Ekwari village under Sahar police station in the late evening on July 11, 2020, and arrested Pintu Singh and took him to West Bengal. Officers of the West Bengal police team said that the imposter Pintu Singh had at least half a dozen members in his gang. The members of the gang went West Bengal in a luxury car and conducted Income Tax raids at different places and looted huge cash.
