Patna : Third seed Stan Wawrinka, 34, Switzerland, World No 42 Adrian Mannarino, 31, France, World No 44 Kyle Edmund, 25, UK, and World No 50 Miomir Kecmanovic, 20, Serbia, entered the 2nd round of Mexican Open, an ATP World Tour 500 series outdoor hard courts event at Acapulco, Mexico, on February 25, 2020. World No 2 Rafael Nadal, 33, Spain, is the top seed in the tournament.

World No 16 Stan Wawrinka, the winner of three Grand Slam titles, edged past World No 82 Frances Tiafoe, 22, USA, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 in 2hr 45 minutes in first round winning one break point besides 3 games in a rowand .Wawrinka hammered 35 Aces in the match to 5 by Toafoe. The Swiss, in all, won 119 points to 104 by the American. Wawrinka won 84 service points to 72 by Tiafoe.

Mannarino beat World No 58 Cameron Norrie, 24, UK, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 in first round battling back from one set down. The Frenchman fired 9 Aces in the match to 5 by the Brit.
