War of attrition among Grand Alliance leaders in Munger over varsity issue

Munger: Political atmosphere has warmed up here after the agitation launched by Munger district unit of the RJD demanding immediate opening of a university at Munger. A war of attrition has begun among by the members of the Grand Alliance.

While the RJD district leadership under president Pramod Yadav is actively participating in the agitation, the RJD MLA from Munger Vijay Kumar Vijay and the leaders of other constituents of the grand alliance including Congress and JD(U) are not only skipping the agitational programmes, but are engaged in issuing statements defending the government claiming the matter was being considered by the government.

A few JD(U) leaders finding the position of the alliance critical in Munger said that government was ready to open an extension branch of the university for the time being while fullfledged university will come up next year, the RJD leadership has rubbished the statement saying that they would not accept any extension branch and the struggle will continue for fullfledged university. The agitationists are taking advantage of the statements of CM Nitish Kumar made seven years back in this regard. ” We want the assurance to be implemented,”said Pramod Kumar Yadav, convenor of the University Nirman Sangharsha Morcha.
