Patna : West Indies were 295/7 in 95 overs at the stumps on the first day of second cricket test against India at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, riding on an unbeaten 98 with 7 fours and a six by Roston Chase, 52 with 6 fours by captain Jason Holder, 36 with 5 fours by Sai Hope, and 30 with 4 fours and a six by wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich. Roston Chase and Holder added 104 run for the 7th wicket. Chase also added 69 with Dowrich for the 6th wicket. Chase has faced 174 ball in his unbeaten knock.

For India, spinner Kuldeep Yadav and fast bowler Umesh Yadav took three wickets each while Ravichandra Ashwin took one wicket. Fast bowler Shardul Thakur made his debut in the test but was unlucky to get injured after bowling just 1.4 overs.
