Bettiah: A violente clash between residents of Shrinagar Mehandi Bari and Ojha Tola under Manuapool Police Outpost was averted on May 17, 2018, due to timely arrival of West Champaran SP Jayant Kant along with a big contingent of police force on the spot.

Sources said that a minor incident of pushing and jostling between two groups of children on May 16, 2018, evening, triggered tension and the men and women from both the villages came out from their houses and to fight each other. Soon they resorted to brickbatting.

After getting information, Manuapool Police Outpost incharge Rajiv kumar Rajak informed West Champaran SP Jayant Kant and SDPO, Bettiah, Pankaj Kumar Rawat. They reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Police arrested six persons from the two sides. An FIR was lodgedagainst 150 unknown pesons including 50 women in this connection. A Magistrate with a section of police is camping on the spot, sources said.
