W Bengal police arrest Bhojpur man for raping daughter, survivor taken to Kolkata

Ara : West Bengal police, with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart, recovered a teenage girl from a village under Shahpur police station on July 16, 2019, evening, and took her to Kolkata on July 17, 2019, after her medical examination at Ara Sadar Hospital. The West Bengal police had already arrested her father Indrajeet Singh for allegedly outraging her modesty.

Sub-Inspector of West Bengal police, A K Dey, said that Indrajeet Singh under Shahpur police station area in Bhojpur district lived in Kolkata along with his family members. On July 12, 2019, he was coming to his native village in Bhojpur district along with his teenage daughter. On the way, he allegedly outraged modesty of his daughter on train and returned to Kolkata leaving his daughter at his native village.

The girl narrated her ordeal to her mother on mobile. Her mother lodged a named FIR with Kolkata police against her husband Indrajeet Singh in this connection. Kolkata police arrested Indrajeet Singh from his house at Kolkata under Protection of Children from Sexual Offense Act (POCSO).

The West Bengal police reached Ara and with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart recovered the girl from a village under Shahpur police station to get her statement recorded under Section 164 of CrPC and took her to Kolkata with them after her medical examination at Ara Sadar Hospital.
