Bagaha : The voters of  Deoraj area comprising 22 villages , 10 km  away from  Lauria  block under Narakatiaganj assembly segment of Valmikinagar parliamentary constituency (PC) in West Champaran district, on April 19, 2019, threatened to boycott the Lok Sabha polls to protest lack of basic amenities in their area.

Leaders of this minority dominated  area including  Mohammed Sabbir, Mohammed Hannan, Izahar  Hussain, Abdul Mian, and Nand Kishore Ram on April 19  threatened  to boycott the Lok Sabha polls and staged demonstration at Basawaria  demanding construction of a bridge at Barbiro Ghat over river Sikrahna, a degree college at Deoraj, and pucca roads  to connect each village of Deoraj area. They said that  leaders of different political parties come to their villages in successive polls seeking votes and promise to construct the bridge, degree  college, pucca roads, and the hospital, but forget it after winning the elections.

The protesters said that  even after 70 years of Independence the area remains neglected a population of about one lakh is still  living in medieval age as communication in the area remains snapped during rainy season in absence of a bridge at Barbiro Ghat and people falling ill are unable to go out of their villages  for treatment.
