Ara : Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, administration has initiated process to identify two educationally and socially backward. villages to develop them. The VKSU administration has also directed all the colleges under its jurisdiction  to adopt at least one backward village and develop it as a model village.

Registrar, VKSU, Col. Shyamanand Jha said that the scheme has a lot of benefit and added that all the colleges have been directed to select the villages and send the list to the university headquarters for necessary action. The VKSU students are quite happy with the decision of the Governor cum Chancellor of state universities in this regard.

The Governor had  held a meeting with the Vice-Chancellors of all the universities recently and directed them to adopt two villages under their respective areas every academic session and develop them as model villages and also undertake several creative activities there. The universities will launch Rural Digital Literacy Campaign in the adopted villages and work for health and sanitation there.

The universities were also directed to add such families to this campaign none of whose members know  the ABC of  computer. The villages would be developed in such a way that changes care visible and services of the NCC and NSS may be taken to achieve the objective. The NCC and NSS volunteers will teach the illiterate villagers and also make them aware of health and sanitation needs.

Anamika Kesari, a student,  said that the villages would be developed and  in the process the  students would get an opportunity to serve the society. Divyanshu Mishra said that the move to make villagers digitally literate is very good. Amit Kumar Singh praised the task given to the universities by the Chancellor.
