Villagers protest murder of youth, block Ara -Patna main road

Ara : Irate villagers blocked Ara-Patna main road on February 26, 2018, paralysing  movement of vehicles for about two hours after police recovered body of a youth from outskirts of Gyanpur Chakia under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district. They also scuffled with police personnel and also pelted them with stones when they reached the place to remove the blockade. An SI was injured in the stone pelting. The locals were demanding immediate arrest the killers.

SHO, Koelwar police station, Pankan Saini said that police recovered body of Manjit Paswan, 30, a daily wage earner and son of Govind Paswan of Kayamnagar under Koelwar police station. As the news of recovery of body spread, the villagers got agitated and blocked  Ara-Patna main road. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials.
