Buxar : Hundreds of villagers assembled at South Bihar Gramin Bank, Asha Padari Branch, under Simari police station in Buxar district on June 2, 2021, after news of withdrawal of huge amount from the accounts of several persons under mysterious circumstances spread like wildfire in the area. Police rushed to the spot and persuaded the people to return to their respective places saying police were investigating the matter.
Sources said that huge cash from the bank account of several persons disappeared under mysterious circumstances though the account holders had not drawn the amount. As the villagers came to know about it, they rushed to the bank. They demanded of the bank officialsto check their bank accounts and queried about their bank balance.
Sources further said that a huge amount had disappeared from the bank account of Satish Kumar, Ramji Tiwari, Dilip Tiwari, Kalawati Devi, Janardan Tiwari, Surendra Prasad, Pawan Tiwari, and others. Villagers alleged that a bank employee had links with the miscreants who drew the cash from different accounts. Villagers also lodged a complaint with police in this connection. Bank Manager said that he took charge only some days ago and senior officials of the bank had been apprised of the incident.
