Ara : The villagers fished out bodies of two students from river Gangi at Barahbatara under Ara Town police station (PS) in Bhojpur District on September 29, 2021. The deceased were identified as Md Shahbaz, 8, son of Md Murtaza of Rauza locality under Ara Town PS, and Tanveer, 17, son of late Guddu Khan of the same locality.
Md Murtaza said that his son Md Shahbaz along with Tanveer and two other friends were on a stroll on September 28, 2021, but they went towards the bank of river Gangi at Barahabatara. At the bank of the river, Md Shahbaz went to attend call of nature but he slipped and fell into the river and drowned. Seeing him drowning, Tanveer tried to rescue but he also drowned. Their other two friends raised an alarm. Hearing their cry, the locals rushed to the spot and informed police, who reached the spot and pressed divers into operation to find out the bodies but in vain.On September 29, 2021, the locals found two bodied floating in the river and fished them out.
