Villagers block road after death of labourer at Rice Mill in Buxar

Buxar : A daily wage earner Birendra Bhar, son of Laxman Bhar of village Sarhathi under Itadhi police station in Buxar district, died under heap of straw at a rice mill under Dhansoi police station area on July 31, 2017. The villagers blocked Buxar-Dhansoi main road with the body paralysing movement of vehicles. They were demanding compensation to the family members of the deceased.

Birendra Bhar worked as a daily wage earner at Sidhant Rice Mill at village Mahdah under Dhansoi police station. He was loading straw on a truck on July 31 when the truck overturned and Birendra Bhar came  under heap of straw. People present there dragged him out and took him to the Buxar Sadar Hospital where the doctors referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) but he succumbed to his injuries while being taken to Patna.

SHO, Itadhi police station, Shameem Ahmad said that police were trying to pacify the protesters but they refused to lift the blockade. An FIR will be lodged against them, he said. The blockade had not been lifted till the filling of this report.
