Ara : Hundreds of villagers on February 19, 2020, blocked Ara-Sasaram main road near Agiaw Mor since on February 19, 2020, morning, in protest against death of a cycle rider in a road accident on February 18, 2020, late evening. They burnt tyres on road paralysing movement of vehicles for about four hours. They were demanding action against the vehicle driver and Rs 10lakh compensation to the family of the deceased.

The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. SHO, Gadhani police station, said that Arif Hussain, who ran a shop at Agiaw Mor, was going to his native village Gaura under the police station in the late evening on February 18 on his bicycle after shutting down his shop. When he reached near his native village, a speeding vehicle coming from opposite direction knocked him down. The villagers rushed him to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the PHC. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
