Ara : Angry over thrashing of a youth Asif Alam, 16, of Sugandha Colony under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district, by half-a-dozen persons on May 8, 2017, the villagers blocked Ara-Patna main road near Koelwar for about three hours paralysing movement of vehicles on the road.They burnt tyres on the road and raised slogans against police.They were demanding arrest of the culprits. The blockade was lifted after the police assured them to arrest the culprit at the earliest.

Md Hasan of Sugandha colony under Koelwar police station complained that about half a dozen persons kidnapped his son Asif Alam, 16, on May, and thrashed and injured him. When Santosh Singh 22, son of Gajendra Singh, tried to rescue Asif Alam, the miscreants also assaulted him. Later the injured were admitted to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Koelwar. Sources said that Asif Alam had one sided love with a girl of Sugandha Colony.

SHO, Koelwar police station, said that Asif Alam had not been kidnapped and one Dhanraj had taken him on his motorcycle to Kulharia ground under Koelwar police station where the girl’s brothers along with their friends thrashed him. He said that an FIR has been lodged and police were investigating the matter.
