Ara : Irate villagers blocked Ara – Patna main road near Dharahara locality under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district paralysing movement of vehicles on May 19, 2018, in protest against firing and thrashing of villagers by some liquor and arms supplier. They burnt tyres on road and also raised slogans against police administration. The blockade was lifted after possitive  assurance from police to take action against the miscreants.

Shugani and other villagers alleged that the miscreants dump firearms and liquor at a temple at village Dharahara Mathia under Ara Town police station and supply the same to other places from there right under the nose of police. They alleged that police remained inactive despite receiving complaints about the illegal trade there.

The villagers alleged that on May 19, 2018, the miscreants were supplying firearms and liquor from the temple to smoe people and when they objected to it, they fired several rounds in the air to terrorise them and also thrashed some of them. The villagers said that they would be forced to launch more an aggressive agitation if no action was taken by police against the arms andliquor suppliers.
