Ara : Hundreds of villagers and farmers under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Mahasabha (ABKM) blocked Ara -Mohania NH 30 near Asani village since October 22, 2018, morning, to press their demands including declaration of Udwantnagar block as drought hit, water supply to the tail end of the canals. They paralysed the movement of vehicles by burning tyres on road raising slogans against the State government and Bhojpur district administration.

The protesters took out procession that passed  through the main thoroughfares of Ara town and proceeded towards village Asani where they blocked Ara-Mohania main road.

Speaking on the occasion, Raju Yadav of the ABKM said that the present governments at the Centre and in Bihar are anti-farmer. He said the farmers are suffering due to lack of irrigation facility and reasonable compensation for their yield. He said the governments have also adopted different yardsticks in declaring blocks drought hit and added that drought like situation prevails in Bhojpur district.
