Ara : Irate villagers blocked  Ara – Mohania NH 30 near Isadhi Bazaar under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district for about for hours on November 20, 2017,  paralysing the movement of vehicles in protest against erratic power supply and use of bamboo poles for running live electric wires. The protesters burnt tyres on the road and raised slogans against the officials of the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL).

The villagers alleged that despite several request, the officials of the SBPDCL only gave false assurance and added that they had given the Junior Engineer (JE) and SDO, SBPDCL, estimate for the electric poles and transformers two months ago but nothing has so far been done in this regard.  SHO, Jagdishpur police station, and the BDO reached the spot after three hours and assured the villagers that their problems would be solved within 15 days after which they lifted the blockage with a warning to launch an aggressive agitation if the problem was not solved within 15 days.
