Ara : Hundreds of irate villagers on September 7, 2020, blocked Ara-Barhara main road for about four hours in protest against death of a youth in an accident and also bad condition of road. They burnt tyres on road paralysing movement of vehicles. They were demanding a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased and a government job to one of his family members besides construction of quality road. The blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officials.

Dhan Jee along with his friend Raja of Shree Tola under Ara Town police station was returning from his relative’s place  on September 6, 2020, late evening,  on his motorcycle. When he reached near Karza under Barhara police station, his motorcycle met with an accident due to bad road. The locals rushed them to Ara Sadar Hospital where the doctor referred Dhan Jee to  Patna Medical College and Hospital where he died during treatment. The villagers said that roads were constructed with sub-standard materials and developed potholes immediately after construction.
