Ara : Irate villagers on November 9, 2020, blocked the road near Badaki Khadaon Kaani Bridge under Sahar police station (PS) in Bhojpur District with the body of a man who died in an accident the same morning. They were raising slogans against the district administration. The protesters burnt tyres and paralysed movement of vehicles demanding compensation to the next of kin of the deceased.
The blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officials. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
SHO Sahar police station said that Raghvendra Kumar Singh, 40,her son of Siddhnath Singh of Lodipur under Sahar police station was going along with his daughter Babali Kumari to drop her at a tuition centre at Khaira Bazaar on bicycle on November 9, 2020. When he reached near Badki Khadaon Kani Bridge, a speeding vehicle knocked them down killing Raghvendra Kumar Singh on the spot and injuring his daughter Babali Kumari. Police admitted the injured to Sahar Primary Health Centre, Sahaqr, where the doctor referred her to Ara Sadar Hospital in view of her serious condition.
