Viktor Axelsen jumps 3 places in BWF Rankings, Lakshya Sen jumps 2 places

Patna : Viktor Axelsen, 26, Denmark, has jumped 3 places after winning his maiden All England Open singles title last week to be ranked World No 4 with 7,8,968 points in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Rankings released on March 17, 2020. Anders Antonsen, 22, Denmark, has also jumped one ladder to be ranked World No 3 with 80,362 points after reaching the semi-finals at All England Open.

Kento Momota, 25, Japan, and Chou Tien Chen, 30, Taiwan, remain World No 1 and World No 2 with 1,09,118 and 84,328 points respectively. Chen had reached the final at All England Open. Lee Zii Jia, 21, Malaysia, has jumped 3 places to be ranked World No 10 with 57,659 points after reaching SFs at All England Open last week.

But, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 23, Indonesia, has slipped 3 places to be ranked World No 6 with 78,332 points. Reigning Asian Games champion Jonata Christie, Indonesia, 22, has slipped 1 position to be ranked World No 7 with 74,590 points. N G Ka Long Angus, Hong Kong, remains World No 8 with 63,302 points. Reigning Olympic Chamion Chen Long, 31, China, remains World No 5 with 78,440 points.

B Sai Praneeth, India, has s;lipped 3 places to be ranked World No 13 with 53,817 points while Kidambi Srikath, India, stays as World No 14 with 51, 199 points. Parupalli Kashyap, India, remains static as World  No 24 with 43,190 points.

Lakshya Sen, 18, India, has jumped 2 places to be ranked World No 27 with 41,177 points while H S Prannoy, KI ndia, has slipped 1 position to be ranked World No 28 with 41,135 points. Sourabh Verma, India, remains static as World No 30 with 39,579 points while his younger brother Sameer Verma, India, remains World No 31 with 39,079 points. Subhankar Dey, India, has slipped 2 places and is ranked World No 46 with 30,915 points. Ajay Jayaram, India, remains World No 61 with 26,080 points.

Siril Verma, India, has jumped 3 places to be ranked World No 93 with 18,470 points. Kiran George, India, has also jumped 3 places and is ra nked World No 108 with 16,610 points.
