Motihari :  A  State Vigilance Investigation Bureau team  on January 17, 2020, arrested Kameshwar Kumar ,Mukhia  of  Tikuliya  Gram panchayat, at Motihari, headquarters of East Champaran District in North Bihar, while accepting illegal gratification  of Rs 1.5 lakh from Upendra Sahni, a Ward Member  of the Panchayat.

DSP Vigilance Bureau Sarwesh Kumar said that Mukhia  Kameshwar Kumar was nabbed near godown  of  Motihari block office while accepting bribe from  Upendra Sahni, a Ward member of Tikuliya Panchayat,  to release  the rest of the fund  for  laying of pipelines for drinking water  under ,Jal Jeevan Hariyali’  scheme.

The DSP said that Sahni  had lodged complaint with the Vigilance  officials  saying that he was executing  laying of pipelines for drinking water  under his Ward  but Mukhia Kameshwar Kumar had demanded  Rs 1.5 lakh  to release the  fund. After verifying the information, Vigilance team laid trap and arrested Mukhia Kameshwar Kumar accepting bribe.
