Ara : State Vigilance Investigation Bureau sleuths from Patna on August 12, 2021, arrested Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Tarari Block, in Bhojpur District in South Bihar, Manju Kumari, red handed while allegedly accepting Rs 20,000 as bribe from an Aganwadi Sevika. The Vigilance Bureau officials interrogated the CDPO.
CDPO, Tarari, Manju Kumari had allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 from an Aganwadi Sevika for putting her signature on the purchase register. The Aganwadi Sevika complained to the Vigilance department. On her complaint, the Vigilance Bureau officials laid a trap and asked the Aganwadi Sevika to go to the CDPO and give her the desired amount. As the CDPO Manju Kumari took the amount, the Vigilance Team arrested her red handed.
