Ara : A State Vigilance Investigation Bureau from Patna arrested Block Education Officer (BEO), Piro, in Bhojpur District in South Bihar, on June 21, 2021, red handed allegedly while accepting bribe. The arrested BEO was identified as Abhay Kumar. The sleuths of Vigilance are interrogating him.
BEO, Piro Block, Abhay Kumar, had withheld salary of the Headmaster, Middle School, Narayanpur, Ajay Kumar, on the charge of financial irregularities and sent a letter to his senior officer for further action. When the Headmaster requested the BEO to acquit him of the charges, BEO Kumar allgedly demanded Rs 80,000 from him to extend him favour.
At this, the Headmaster complained to the Vigilance Bureau. A Vigilance Bureau team swung into action and laid a trap to arrest BEO Kumar three days ago. When the BEO was going to the Block Development Officer (BDO), Piro, on June 21, 2021, Headmaster Ajay Kumar, met him at the gate of the BRC and gave Rs 80,000 though the BEO tried to admonish him. As the BEO received the money, Vigilance Bureau sleuths caught him red handed.
