Vigilance Bureau nabs Asst. Engineer & Jr. Engineer, RWD, accepting Rs 80,000 as bribe

Patna : A State Vigilance Investigation Bureau team from headquarters Patna headed by DSP Mohammad Jamiruddin on January 11, 2019, arrested Assistant Engineer, Works Division, Paliganj, Rural Works Department (RWD), Gorelal Paswan, and Junior Engineer, Works Division, Paliganj, RWD, Nawab Lal, at Patna while accepting Rs 80,000 as bribe. They were arrested from the premises of Circle Office, Superintending Engineer (SE), RWD, located east of Haj Bhavan, Hardinge Road, Patna.

Manoj Kumar Singh, a contractor and resident of village Ranipur under Paliganj police station in Patna district, had lodged a complaint with Vigilance Investigation Bureau alleging that Junior Engineer, Works Division, Paliganj, RWD, Nawab Lal, was demanding Rs 80,000 from him for preparing Measurement Book. The allegation was found correct during verification by the Vigilance Bureau after which a trap was laid and Nawab Lal and Assistant Engineer Gorelal Paswan were arrested accepting bribe from the premises of Circle Office, SE, RWD, east of Haj Bhavan on Hardinge Road, Patna.
