Ara : The State Vigilance Investigation Bureau has refused to accept folders of 3,397 contractual teachers appointed in Bhojpur District in South Bihar suspecting largescale irregularities in preparation of Merit lists and appointment of contractual teachers. The Vigilance Bureau refused to accept folders of contractual teachers uploaded on the site of the Education Department after 2016. The Education department directed the teachers to upload their folders on the site of the department till July 20, 2021.
The Vigilance Bureau had demanded folders of educational certificates and Merit list relating to appointments of contractual teachers triggering resentment amongĀ the teachers concerned. Although the teachers have educational certificates but the Merit list concerned are allegedly with the Panchayat Secretaries and the Block Education Officers (BEOs).
At least 9,735 teachers were appointed in the Primary and Middle schools in Bhojpur District on contractual basis between 2003 to 2015 and Education department had uploaded 5,333 folders containing educational certificates of the teachers and the related Merit lists on its site till 2016 but did not uploaded 4,402 folders. On the directive Patna High Court Patna, when the Vigilance Bureau demanded folders, education department swung into action and uploaded 3,397 folders recently showing that 1,005 teachers had either diedĀ or have left the service .
