Patna: Patna Sadar SDO Tanay Sultania on July 13, 2020, issued order for closure of vegetable markets in Rajendra Nagar and Kankarbagh localities for three days taking serious note of gross violation of standard operating procedures during lockdown in Patna District.
The matter was probed by SDO Sadar and during probe gross violation of standard operating procedures was detected. Accordingly, decision was taken to close markets under Section 133 of Code of Criminal Procedure.
It may be mentioned here here that in view of alarming increase in Coronavirus infection in the district, Patna DM Kumar Ravi has directed all magistrates and police officers to ensure mandatory use of masks and sanitisers under standard operating procedure besides social distancing. He had stated that if any complaint is received regarding non-use of masks at crowded places or markets or shops and non-compliance with social distancing, such markets/shops would be closed under Epidemic Act.
