Hajipur : Police arrested two gold smugglers on April 9, 2017, with 1. 75 kg gold from a field opposite Ganga Bridge near Paswan Chowk under Hajipur Industrial police station in Vaishali district. SHO, Hajipur Industrial police station, Madhurendra Kumar, said that the arrested gold smugglers were identified as Najjo Sah, 50, and Fakiruddin, 45, of Midnapur area in Bengal. They had kept the gold in their underwear, SHO Kumar said.
They were arrested while searching for customers. The SHO said that they claimed that they had found gold from a ship which had drowned in the sea. But, the SHO said they had stolen the gold from some place. Both of them were sent to jail on April 10.
