Patna : World No 47 in WTA rankings Alison Van Uytvanck, 24, Belgium, stunned defending champion and World No 3 Garbine Muguruza, 24, Spain, in the second round of Wimbledon tennis championship on July 5, 2018, night, in a massive upset in the tournament. Uytvanck defeated Muruguza 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 to enter the 3rd round of Wimbledon 2018.

Utyvanck won 7 break points while Muguruza won 4. Muguruza committed 3 double faults to 2 by Utyvanck, whose winning percentage on both her first and second serve was better than that of her rival.

World No 27 Anett Kontaveit, 22, Estonia, defeated World No 74 Jennifer Brady, 23, USA, 6-2, 7-6 to enter the third round of the tournament.

World No 33 Dominika Cibulkova, 29, Slovakia, defeated World No 24 Johana Konta, 27, UK, 6-3, 6-4 to enter the third round. Konta fired 10 Aces in the match to just 2 by Cibulkova.
