Saharsa : An Americal scientist couple Grieg and Raga on July 9, 2017, adopted a two year old girl Nishu from a special Orphanage Centre located at Kosi Chowk, Saharsa, in North Bihar. The American couple lives in San Francisco, North California, US. They had applied online to the Orphanage Centre in September 2015 to adopt the girl. Principal Judge, Kishore Nyay Board, Manish Kumar, and District Child Protection Officer, Saharasa, Bhaskar Kashyam, handed them over the legal documents required to adopt the girl.
Raga’s father Krishna Kumar is owner of a firm in Switzerland. Krishna Kumar is living in Switzerland for the last 30 years. Krishna Kumar said that his daughter and son-in-law have two sons but they wanted to have a daughter too.
Sweta Jha, Manager of the Orphanage Centre, said that another child of the centre would also soon be adopted by a Canadian couple. Legal formalities are being completed in this connection, she said. She said that a Malta couple had adopted a two year old girl in June 2017.
