Bagaha : An unwed mother with her newborn child in her lap is  moving from police to public representatives seeking  justice for the last one-and-a-half-month but to no avail so far.

Sources said that Shazia of village Meghawal Mathia under Ramnagar police station under Bagaha Sub-division in West Champaran district was enticed by a youth Sheikh Shahid of the same village promising to marry her. They fell in love and subsequently she got pregnant. Her worried guardians asked her to abort the child but she refused as she had faith in her love. But, but Shahid went back at his words to marry her and avoided her.

She lodged a case (127/2017) with Ramnagar police station under various sections of the IPC against Shahid but police are yet to take any action against the accused, who have threatened with dire consequence if she did not withdraw the case.

SHO, Ramnagar police station, Vinay Mishra said that police investigation was on and the accused  would be arrested very soon. The girl on May 2, 2017, also met a member of State Child Right Protection Commission Aparna Singh and told her about her plight. Aparna Singh promised to get her and her child justice.
