Ara : Some unidentified miscreants killed a cart-puller Kamlesh Singh with traditional weapons near Over bridge under Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district, on January 14, 2019, night, and escaped after throwing the body under the bridge. On January 15, 2019, morning, the locals found the body lying under the overbridge and informed police. The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.

After the incident, the irate family members and residents of the area blocked Ara – Patna and Ara-Sasaram main road near the overbridge raising slogans against the district administration. They burnt tyres on road paralysing movement of vehicles for about three hours. They were demanding arrest of the miscreants and a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next kin of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police. Later, police brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem.

SHO, Nawada police station, said that some miscreants called Kamlesh Singh, 35, a cart-puller of Anaith locality under Nawada police station, on January 14 late evening near overbridge under Nawada police station for carrying some articles. As he reached there, the miscreants thrashed him and then killed him with traditional weapons. The miscreants threw the body under the overbridge and escaped.
