Ara : Motorcycle borne unidentified armed criminals shot at two brothers : Ravi Gupta and Tribhuan Gupta, son of Hari Narayan Gupta of Kamta Bazaar locality under Baniyapur police station in Saran district, when they were returning to their residence on Godhna Road under Nawada police station area, Ara, from Bazaar Samiti around 9 pm on July 24, 2018, after closing their shops.
Ravi Gupta died on the spot while Tribhuan Gupta was admitted to Sadar Hospital, Ara, but the doctors there referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of his critical condition.
SHO, Nawada police station, said that Tribhuan Gupta is an employee in the Cooperative Bank posted at Ara while his younger brother Ravi Gupta runs a jewellery shop at Bazaar Samiti. Tribhuan Gupta went to his brother from bank on July 24 evening and after closing the shop both the brothers were returning to their residence at Cooperative Bank Colony, Godhna Road, under Nawada police station, on their motorcycle. When they reached near Anaith Mathia, motorcycle borne unidentified armed miscreants fired on them from point blank range and escaped.
On getting information from the locals, police rushed to the spot and took both the injured to Sadar Hospital, Ara, but Ravi Gupta succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.
The SHO said that an FIR has been lodged with Nawada police station against unknown persons and police were conducting raids to arrest them. He said that the reason behind the incident was yet to be ascertained.
