Bettiah: Two school students were murdered in separate incidents under Manuapul Police Oupost and Jogapatti police station in West Champaran district on June 21, 2018, evening.

Vikas Kumar Singh, 16, son of Birenda Kumar Singh of village Barawa under Bhairoganj police station, a student of Class IX at St Michael School, Bettiah, living near Chhawani rail level crossing under Manuapul Police Outpost, was stabbed to death by some people when he was going to purchase something from market on June 21 evening. Before stabbing Vikas to death, the miscreants thrashed him. The reason behind the murder is said to be school rivalry.

West Champaran Jayant Kant said that 11 persons have been made named accused in the FIR lodged by the deceased father Birendrr Kumar Singh of which five persons have been arrested. The body was handed over to the family members after autopsy.

In another incident under Jogapatti police station, Gulshan Kumar, a student of class IX and resident of village Harawa Chamoli village, was killed on June 21, 2o18, night, when he was sleeping. Six persons have made named accused in connection with Gulshan’s murder of which one has been arrested, SP Jayant Kant said.
