Motihari : Police on May 28, 2020, morning, recovered body of a migrant worker from an orchard near a quarantine centre at Shitalpur  near Chakiya  in East Champaran District in North Bihar. The body was hanging from branch of a tree. Police  suspect  that he had  slipped from the quarantine centre on May 27, 2020, night, and hanged himself to death using a  rope. His family members have, however, alleged that he was killed by someone.

SDPO, Chakiya, Shailendra Kumar, said  a case has been lodged in this connection by Chakiya police station  and the body was sent to Motihari for post-mortem.

Police said that the deceased had returned from Kolhapur and was put under quarantined at Shitalpur Middle School and his quarantine period  ended on May 27, 2020. He was to be released on May 28.  The cause of suicide  or murder is not known  to police or his family members.

In another incident, a migrant worker died on May 27, 2020, night, at Lahasaniya quarantine centre. He had returned from Pune, Maharashtra, and was quarantined at this centre on May 25, 2020.  The cause of  his death is yet to be be known. Police are
waiting for the post-mortem report.
