Ara  : A speeding Bolero knocked down three persons including a deaf and dumb student near Dhandiha Balkhandi Nath temple under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur District on January 4, 2020, late evening, and escaped. The local rushed the three injured persons to Ara Sadar Hospital but the student and a young woman died on way to Ara Sadar Hospital.

Police brought the bodies to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted an injured there but the doctor referred her to  Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of her serious condition. The deceased were identified as an Intermediate student Vivek Kumar, 20, son of Munna Sadhu of Dhandiha village, and Arpana Kumari, younger daughter of Murari Sao of Dhandiha village, while his elder daughter Sandhya Kumari is struggling for life at PMCH. The local caught the driver of the Bolero and handed him over to police after thrashing him. Police seized the Bolero.

SHO, Koelwar police station, said that Vivek Kumar, Arpana Kumari, and Sandhya Kumari were trying to cross the road near Dhandiha Balkhandi Nath temple under Koelwar police station when a speeding Bolero knocked them down. The driver lost control over the steering and dashed against a wall of the temple razing the wall to the ground. The local rushed them to the Koelwar primary health centre but the doctor referred them to Ara Sadar Hospital though Vivek Kumar and Arpana Kumari succumbed to their injuries on way to Ara Sadar Hospital.
