Two minor boys drown to death in river Ganga at Bhojpur village

Ara :Two minor boys drowned in swirling river Ganga while taking a dip in it at village Kachehari Tola under Barhara block in Bhojpur district on August 25, 2019, evening. The villagers fished out the bodies of boys from the water.

The deceased were identified as Sonu Kumar, 11, son of Raj Kumar Bind, and his uncle Saroj Kumar, 10, son of Lal Sahab Bind of Kachehari Tola village. Later, police brought the bodies over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

SHO, Khwaspur police station, said that Sonu Kumar and Saroj Kumar were taking dip in river Ganga on August 25, 2019, evening, when they were swept away by the fast current of the river and were drowned.

A villager Manoj Kumar Singh, State General Secretary, JD(U),  demanded Rs 30 lakh each as compensation from the government to the next of kin of the deceased failing which the villagers would be compelled to launch an agitation.
