Motihari : Two young migrant workers: Chhote Lal Kumar and Rajendra Kumar, who were under quarantine at Government Middle School building at village Bisarahiya under Dhaka police station in East Champaran district on their return from Mumbai and Bengaluru respectively, died in an accident when their bike collided head on with a truck coming from opposite direction near Bansapti Mai Temple near Lalbegiya village under Chiraiya police station in the wee hours on May 25, 2020. They died on the spot. The death of the two migrant workers in an accident has raised eyebrows as they were under quarantine and not supposed to go out.
Chhote Lal Kumar and Rajendra Kumar were missing since 2.30 am on May 25, 2020. Incharge of the centre Pawan Singh, Headmaster of the Middle School, lodged a case with Dhaka police station in the wee hours on May 25, 2020.
Chhote Lal Kumar and Rajendra Kumar riding a bike were going to Motihari in the wee hours on May 25 but their two-wheeler
collided head on with a truck coming from opposite direction near Bansapti Mai Temple near Lalbegiya village under Chiraiya police station. Chiraiya police sent the bodies for post-mortem to Motihari Sadar Hospital. The post-mortem was performed at 9 am on May 25, 2020, according to Dr Manoj Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of the hospital.
DM, East Champaran, Shirshat Kapil Ashok, talking to this scribe said that he is awaiting for post-mortem reports of the deceased and also waiting for the report of SDM, Sikrahna, in this connection. “I think, it is a matter of security lapse and I will look into the matter and proper action would be initiated against guilty persons.”
SDPO, Sikrahana, Shivendra Anubhavi, said that the guardians of two migrant workers ,who were killed in an accident, had come to Dhaka police station but since he is deployed at a place far away from headquarters of Sikrahana he has no update on the matter.
