Ara : Two labourers were killed while two others were injured when a truck they were travelling by dashed a barrier at Koelwar under the same police station in Bhojpur District on May 4, 2020, night. They were returning to Jharkhand from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, in a truck.

Police brought the bodies over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. Condition of one of the injured is stated to be serious and he was referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).  The deceased were identified as Buddhi Nath, 17, and Suddhu Ram, 18,  of Lekhawan Tola in  Godda district in Jharkhand. Police seized the truck though the driver and the cleaner escaped from the scene after the accident.

SHO, Koelwar police station, said that at least 15 labourers worked at a rice godown at Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh. They set out for their native village in Jharkhand on foot on May 4, 2020, late evening,  but on way they requested a truck driver to give them lift. The driver  allowed them to board the truck at Mohania. Four of them sat on the roof of the truck. When the truck was crossing the Koelwar bridge under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district, four labourers who were sitting on the roof of the truck, collided with  the barrier installed there to check overloading in which two of them died on spot while two others were injured.
