Ara : Two persons were killed and four others injured in accidents at two different places in Bhojpur district on April 17, 2018.

A speeding truck rammed three morning walkers near Kapil Deo Ram Chowk, Koelwar, in which one Mohammad Zafar of Suraundha colony under Koelwar police station was killed while the other two were seriously injured. Zafar was returning home after morning walk.

Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem and admitted the injured to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Koelwar, but the doctor referred one of the injured to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of his serious condition.

Irate villagers blocked Ara-Patna main road for about two hours paralysing movement of vehicles. They also raised slogans against Bhojpur district administration and demanded compensation to the family of the deceased and arrest of the driver of the vehicle. The protesters broke the windscreen of a number of trucks and buses. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officers.

In another incident, one Nikesh Kumar Pandey, son of Dinesh Pandey, who along with his two friends was going to Pachchimi English village under Imadpur police station on a bike to buy parrot, was killed in a head on collision between his bike and a speeding tractor. His friends Guddu Chaudhary and Chhotu were seriously injured. Police seized the tractor and parked it on the campus of  police station.
