New Delhi :The Government of India (GoI) on February 6, 2022, declared two-days’ State Mourning as a mark of respect on the passing away of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, 92.
It is with profound sorrow that the GoI announces the passing away of Lata Mangeshkar on February 6, 2022. As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, the GoI has decided that there will be two-days’ State Mourning from February 6, throughout India, said Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The National Flag will be flown at half-mast from February 6, .2022, to February 7, 2022, throughout India and there will be no official entertainment. It has also been decided that a State Funeral will be accorded to Lata Mangeshkar, according to a PIB release..
