Motihari : Murder of two persons, both cousins and natives of village Balha under Govindganj police station, under Paharpur police station in East Champaran district on April 1, 2017, night has created sensation in the area. The deceased were identified as Rupesh Thakur and his cousin Kamelesh Thakur and their bodies were recovered on pril 2 morning.

While body of one person was recovered by police from a maize field near Barwaghat bridge at village Panditpur, body of another person was found near Dumdumwa bridge in Balua panchayat in the district. Both of them were stabbed to death as the bodies bore stab injury mark on neck and chest.

A bike was also found lying near one of the bodies. Police have started investigation into the twin murder. Rupesh and Kamlesh had left for Karariya on a bike after attending the Shradh of their aunt at village Balha on April 1. Rupesh had told his family members that he was going to his in-laws’ place at Karariya under Paharpur police station where they would attend a Mahayajna. But on April 2 morning, they were found killed at different places by the villagers who informed police. Police are yet to ascertain the reasons behind killing of Rupesh and Kamlesh. Rupseh worked at a local petrol pump while Kamlesh worked in Punjab.
