Patna : Second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, 23, Greece; 3rd seed Alexander Zverev, 24, Germany, 12th seed Pablo Carreno Busta, 30, Spain, and World No 121 Andy Murray, 34, Britain, a winner of three Grand Slam titles, reached third round of Indian Wells Masters at Indian Wells, California, USA, on October 11, 2021.

World No 3 Tsitsipas defeated World No 61 Pedro Martinez, 24, Spain, in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 in 1 hr 34 minutes in 2nd round.The Grre won 4 break points during the match to 1 by Martinez. He also won 3 games in a row in the match to 2 by the Spaniard. Tsitsipas fired 7 Aces during the match to none by Martinez.

World No 4 Zverev beat World No 79, Jenson Brooksby, 20, USA,  in three-sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 in 1hr 46 minutes in 2nd round. Zverev hammered 12 Aces during the match to 1 by Brooksby. He won 4 break points during the match to 2 by the American. The German also won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by the American. Zverev, however, committed 5 double faults during the match to 1 by Brooksby.

World No 16 Busta beat qualifier & World No 174 Emilio Gomez, 29, Ecuador, in straight sets 6-1, 6-4 in 2nd round winning 3 break points and 5 games in a row during the match.

Murray upset World No 38 & 30th seed Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, 18, Spain, in three-sets 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 in 2nd round. Murray, a two-time former Wimbledon Champion, won 4 break points during the match to 2 by Carlos. Both the players won 3 games each in a row during the match. Both of them also fired 3 Aces each during the match.
