Tsitsipas to face Kyrgios in ATP City Open SFs

Patna : Top seed & World No 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas, Greece, 3rd seed & World No 10 Daniil Medvedev, Russia, World No 52 Nick Kyrgios, Australia, and World No 122 Peter Gojowczyk, Germany, have advanced to the semi-finals of City Open, Washington, USA, an ATP  500 points Hard Courts tournament.

Top seed Tsitsipas beat 10th seed Benoit Paire, France, the World No 30, 7-5, 6-0 in 74 minutes in the quarter-finals on August 3, 2019, early morning. Tsitsipas won 5 break points in the match to just 1 by Paire. He also served 6 Aces in the match to 2 by Paire. Tsitsipas also won 8 games in a row in the match to just 2 by Paire.

Medvedev beat World No 17 Marin Cilic, Croatia, the 6th seed, 6-4, 7-6 in 1 hr 34 minutes in the quarter-finals. Medvedev hammered 19 Aces in the match to 4 by Cilic. The Russian won 3 games in a row besides winning a break points.

Kyrgios beat qualifier & World No 137 Nobert Gombos, 28, Slovakia, 6-3, 6-3 in the quarter-finals. Kyrgios hammered 19 Aces in the match to just 3 by Gombos. The Australian won 3 break points in the match besides winning 3 games in a row. Kyrgios will face Tsitsipas in the semi-finals on August 4, 2019.

Gojowczyk beat World No34  Kyle Edmund, UK, the 13th seed, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in the semi-finals. Gojowczyk hammered 14 Aces in the match to 6 by Edmunds. He won 3 break points to 1 by Edmund. Both the players won 3 games each in a row. Gojowczyk will face Medvedev in the SFs on August 4.
