Patna : Top seed and World No 15 in ATP rankings Stefanos Tsitsipas, 20, Greece, World No 19 Diego Schwartzman, 26, Argentina, and World No 31 Simon Gilles, 34, France, entered the quarter-finals of Sydney International, an ATP 250 point event, at Sydney, Australia, on January 9, 2019.

Tsitsipas beat World No 80 Guido Andreozzi, 27, Argentina, 6-3, 6-4 in the Round of 16. Tsitsipas fired 9 Aces in the match to 4 by Andreozzi. Andreozzi committed 4 double faults to 1 by Tsitsipas. Tsitsipas won 3 break points while Andreozzi won 1. Tsitsipas won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Andreozzi.

Schwartzman beat World No 101 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, 35, Spain, 6-2, 6-3 in the Round of 16. Both the players committed 3 double faults each in the match. But, Schwartzman won 5 break points to just 1 by Lopez.

Simon beat World No 48 Sam Querrey, 31, USA, in three-sets 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 to enter the quarter-finals. Querrey, however, hammered 22 Aces in the match to 5 by Simon. Simon won 4 break points to 3 by Querrey, who committed 4 double faults.

World No 38 John Millman, 29, Australia, World No 37 Andreas Seppi, 34, Italy, and and World No 75 Yoshihito Nishioka, 23, Japan, have also advanced to the quarter-finals on January 9.
